I study Marfan Syndrome and related genetic disorders that predispose patients to aneurysm and vascular dissection. My project in particular focuses on the identification and characterization of genetic modifiers of Marfan Syndrome in mice and human patients. This research could play a vital role in understanding prognosis and developing new treatments for affected patients as well as deepen our understanding of the causes of aneurysms. I use a variety of genetics, animal modeling, and biochemical techniques to pursue these research aims.
