Esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC)
Esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) is one of the most rapidly increasing cancers in the United States and throughout the developed world. Barrett’s esophagus (BE) is the obligate precursor lesion of EAC. My project goal is to discover a panel of noninvasive circulating miRNA biomarkers to promote earlier detection of BE and EAC. Noninvasive biomarkers can discriminate asymptomatic BE and EAC patients from normal subjects, leading to earlier diagnosis and improved prognosis.
